What Is GHRP-6 5MG?

Growth hormone-releasing peptide 6 (GHRP-6) is a synthetic hexapeptide that mimics the action of GHRH. It binds with growth hormone receptor in the pituitary gland and stimulates the release of growth hormone (GH). Plus, it acts as an agonist of ghrelin, a hormone produced in the gut, which is involved in appetite regulation and GH release.

It was first developed in 1980 and became the first member of the class growth hormone secretagogue. Research shows that GHRP-6 can increase body mass, enhance strength, improve memory and reduce scar formation. It is used in research settings and scientific experiments. On our website, GHRP-6 for sale is restricted to research purposes.

GHRP-6 5MG Uses In Research

1. GHRP-6 and Heart Health

GHRP-6 has been shown to have beneficial cardiovascular effects. In a study, researchers assessed the role of GHRP-6 on myocardial infarct size following occlusion of the coronary artery in pigs. Animals were randomly assigned to receive either GHRP-6 or normal saline. The result found reduced infarct mass and thickness by 78% and 50% respectively. Further, researchers noticed a decrease in reactive oxygen species and suggested that the anti-oxidant activity of GHRP-6 played a role in reducing myocardial ischemic damage [1].

Another study assessed the effect of growth hormone-releasing peptides on chronic heart failure. Rats with chronic heart failure, induced by abdominal aortic binding, were given either growth hormone-releasing peptides, including GHRP-6, or saline water twice a day for three days. Researchers observed increased left ventricular ejection fraction and end-diastolic pressure of left ventricles. Further, the progression of cardiac cachexia, characterized by muscle wasting, was decelerated, and reduced levels of ANP, renin, and aldosterone were detected. It was suggested that these effects were achieved by blocking stress-induced neurohormonal activations and cardiomyocyte apoptosis [2].

2. GHRP-6 and Memory

Research on animal models shows that GHRP-6 may improve memory and cognitive function. One study in the rat model of Alzheimer's Disease found that GHRP-6 administration significantly improved cognitive function through Barne’s maze task [3].

Scientific evidence indicates that ghrelin mediates its effect on memory by releasing glutamate levels at the presynaptic stage, which bind to NMDA receptors postsynaptically. Further, it increases the expression of NR2B-subunits, facilitating memory-related processes. These effects appear to result from the activation of the GHS-R1a receptor [4].

3. GHRP-6 and Gastric Emptying Time

Ghrelin is a gut hormone that has been known to influence various parameters of the gastrointestinal tract. Recent research shows that it increases gastric motility and affects gastric emptying time. One study investigated the effect of GHRP-6 in diabetic rats with gastroparesis, a process characterized by delayed gastric emptying. Researchers found increased gastric emptying time with the administration of GHRP-6. However, it failed to accelerate gastric emptying time in the presence of a growth hormone secretagogue receptor antagonist, indicating the importance of GHRP-6 in affecting gastric emptying time [5].

Another study conducted on mice with septic ileus found increased gastric emptying time with ghrelin and GHRP-6, indicating its potential to be used for the treatment of gastric ileus [6]. Activation of the peripheral cholinergic pathway in the enteric nervous system by ghrelin or GHRP-6 might be involved in mediating these effects.

4. GHRP-6 and Stroke

GHRP-6 has been shown to protect neuronal cells from injury. In one study, researchers found that co-administration of epidermal growth factor and GHRP-6 following the ischemic insult improved survival and reduced infarct size as compared to placebo. Further, it can improve memory after the stroke attack [7].

5. GHRP6 and Wound Healing:

SResearch on animal models shows that GHRP-6 can improve wound closure, reduce scar formation and decrease inflammation through CD36 activation. CD36 is a receptor that when activated promotes blood vessel growth in wounds [8].

6. Current Status of GHRP-6

GHRP-6 is a synthetic peptide and the first member of the class, growth hormone secretagogue. Scientists are currently exploring its effect on cardiovascular problems, stroke, brain health and memory. It’s only used in research settings as FDA hasn’t approved it yet. GHRP-6 is a potent stimulator of natural Growth Hormone release. GHRP-6 is a Hexa-peptide that promotes food intake by stimulating hunger and helps increase energy metabolism. Growth Hormone Releasing Peptides, similar to GHRP-6, are most commonly used for treatment of Growth Hormone (GH) deficiencies, eating disorders, obesity, etc. Research has shown that use of these HGH Peptides increases lean muscle mass, strength, stamina and decreases body fat.
