What Is Ipamorelin 5MG?

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide that belongs to the class of growth hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP). It is a ghrelin agonist and binds with its receptor in the pituitary gland, which triggers the release of growth hormone in a pulsatile manner.

It is a selective growth hormone secretagogue, meaning it has no to little impact on other hormones like cortisol, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone and adrenocorticotrophic hormone. Its specificity makes it a subject of interest for different researchers and scientists. On our website, ipamorelin for sale is exclusively available for research purposes.

Ipamorelin 5MG Uses In Research

1. Ipamorelin Research

Research on animal models supports the bone growth-stimulating effects of ipamorelin. This effect is attributed to its growth hormone releasing properties as GH is involved in promoting bone health and regulating bone turnover.

In one study, researchers examined if ipamorelin administration can increase bone mineral content in female rats. Thirteen-week-old rats were given ipamorelin via subcutaneous route for 12 weeks. The researchers found increased bone mineral density due to enhanced growth of bone and bone dimensions [1].

Another study replicated the results when researchers gave different doses of ipamorelin subcutaneously three times a day for 15 days to rats under observation. The research found increased longitudinal bone growth and body weight associated with ipamorelin in a dose-dependent manner. This indicates that synthetic pentapeptide has the potential to increase bone growth in children with growth retardation [2].

One more study checked if ipamorelin can counteract the bone side effects due to the use of corticosteroids. Long-term corticosteroid use is associated with bone loss and increased risk of fracture. Researchers injected ipamorelin (100ug/kg) three times per day for 3 months in female rats. The results found a four-fold increase in bone formation in rats that received corticosteroids and ipamorelin than those who just received corticosteroid drug [3].

2. Ipamorelin and Muscle Growth

Ipamorelin is banned in competitive sports as there are speculations that it can stimulate muscle growth and enhance muscular strength. However, there is not much literature available to confirm its effect on skeletal muscle.

There is one study that assessed the effect of ipamorelin on smooth muscles in rats. Researchers induced gastroparesis through abdominal surgery that slowed down the gastric emptying and administered ipamorelin in rats under study. The result found increased gastric emptying in rats who received the test drug as compared to the control group [4].

A clinical trial was conducted to assess the safety and efficacy of ipamorelin in post-operative ileus. Patients who underwent small and large bowel resection were randomized to receive infusions of 0.03-mg/kg ipamorelin or placebo on a daily basis from day 1 to 7 after surgery. The result found this dose regimen to be well tolerated [5]. Further research was not continued as there wasn’t enough efficacy established with ipamorelin in humans.

Furthermore, one study found that it can reserve the muscle side effect associated with the use of corticosteroids [3].

3. Ipamorelin and Diabetes

The physiological role of ipamorelin is similar to that of ghrelin. Ghrelin is thought to regulate insulin release from pancreatic cells, so scientists speculate that ipamorelin might do the same. One study on diabetic rats found that ipamorelin stimulates insulin release through adrenergic receptor pathways and calcium channels [6].

4. Summary

Ipamorelin, a synthetic peptide, is a selective secretagogue that triggers the release of growth hormone with minimal to no effect on other hormones. Research on animal models shows that it might be involved in promoting bone health and enhancing muscle strength. FDA hasn’t approved it yet as we need more studies to explore its efficacy in humans. At Element Sarms, ipamorelin purchase is restricted to research purposes. Only buy ipamorelin if you are a licensed researcher.

Ipamorelin is a penta-peptide hormone (Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2), a growth hormone secretagogue and a small molecule ghrelin mimetic developed by Novo Nordisk. Ipamorelin belongs to the most recent generation of GHRPs and causes significant release of growth hormone. Similar to GHRP-6 and GHRP-2, it suppresses somatostatin and increases the stimulation and release of Growth Hormone (GH) from the anterior pituitary. Currently, there are few clinical trials involving Ipamorelin, which were first being studied in the 90s. Somatotropes are the cells that are responsible for producing and releaseing GH.
